Hello! Welcome to my first attempt at keeping a blog. This blog will be about issues in Christian scripture, theology, and history that I find interesting and would like to comment on. Beyond just commentary, though, I find that proposing questions for either others or myself to answer is a very educational tool. I plan to do that and not be very dogmatic about what I think.

Just to introduce myself, well, don’t expect me to tell you much. I’d like to keep my anonymity as much as possible. This blog is mostly going to be about what I have to say and, more important, ask; therefore, I’ll try to avoid argument that are based on personal ethos. In that case, you won’t need to know much about me.

However, if you’d like to understand my interest in what I write about, you need to know that I was raised in an independent, fundamental Baptist (IFB) household and was strongly influenced toward the teachings of Dr. Peter S. Ruckman of Bible Baptist Church of Pensacola, Florida. However, I stopped believing in the key “Ruckmanite” teaching of King James Onlyism in 2006. I eventually separated from all forms of Christianity in 2008. I’d like to think that I’ve given all Christian doctrines adequate thought and do not consider Ruckmanism to be at all representative. However, that is just my opinion, and it is sure to be challenged.

I look forward to civil and thoughtful reactions to my blog.

(A note on Ruckmanism: King James [Version] Onlyism [KJVO] is taught by other systems of IFB teaching besides Ruckmanism. That KJVO is part of Ruckmanism doesn’t mean that it also can’t be part of other teachings, even non-IFB.)
